WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — L'industrie Pizzeria on South 2nd Street doesn't just make the best slice in the city, but in the entire state, a new ranking says.
Eat This, Not That has rated the pizza shop's New Yorker slice as the best in New York State in a ranking of the top slices across the country. The ranking chose one specific type of pizza slice for each of the 50 states.
At L'industrie Pizzeria, that slice was the New Yorker, which is topped with sausage, pepperoni, basil and ricotta cheese.

"L'industrie Pizzeria is owned by a native of Florence, Italy, so you know the pizza is as authentic as it gets," the ranking says. "Nestled in the south end of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, customers can enjoy a wide range of artfully crafted pies."
The study used Yelp's ratings algorithm to figure out the best slices in each state. The top pizza spots were chosen by those that had both the highest number of reviews and the highest number of stars attributed to their Yelp pages.

The foodies at Eat This, Not That then took those top restaurants and chose what they thought was the best slice offering at each one.
For L'industrie, this isn't the first time the pizza shop, which is found between Haveymeyer and Roebling streets, has made it into a favorites list.
Just a few months ago, L'industrie Pizzeria landed on a The Daily Meals list of the best pizza across the country.
In that list, New York City's restaurants took 29 of the The Daily Meal's 101 Best Pizzas in America. Brooklyn led the charge for the five boroughs with 14 spots included in the list. Manhattan came in second with 11.
L'industrie Pizzeria didn't take the top place, but ranked 79th. A few other Brooklyn spots out-ranked the Williamsburg shop, including Di Fara, which took number five and Totonno's which landed at number six.
The Big Apple had more than quadruple as many pizza restaurants on that list as the next two most represented locations – Chicago, Illinois and New Haven, Connecticut, which both had six. The best pizza joint in the nation was taken for the second year in a row by Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven.
