Buzzed in Brooklyn: Calling All Coffee Enthusiasts

The Best Caffeine Fixes Just Over the Williamsburg Bridge

New York, NY – Beans beans, the magical fruit; the more you drink, the more it’s cute. Coffee is something we all know and love, but in recent years, our ideas about the perfect cup of joe have changed. Coffee culture has become much more than just grab-and-go.

People look for quality coffee of course, but also cozy environments. Whether that be to get work done, hang out and read a book, or scroll through social media. An aesthetic, relaxing space is something small coffee spots are now aspiring to be…oh and having the fastest Wi-Fi!

Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Over the past decade, just across the East River, this little neighborhood has been re-established to cater the hipllennial (hipster millennial as I like to call it).

More and more coffee shops continue to pop up on the map, as Brooklyn is slowly becoming the new spot to be. Here are some of Williamsburg’s most buzzed about cafés…

The Bean– 101 Bedford Ave.

Espresso, acai bowls, macaroons, oh my! The Bean is one of NYC’s most notorious spots for having all the goodies! Their menu is filled with great coffee, smoothies and baked goods to satisfy everyone’s needs. Tucked away on the corner of N. 11th and Bedford, its red brick walls and awesome playlist are sure to have you there all day.

I recommend an iced vanilla latte and a slice of banana nut bread!

Toby’s Estate Coffee– 125 N 6thSt.

Toby’s is known for their friendly service and great location. Huge floor to ceiling windows create an open and airy space, perfect for sitting and listening to great music. The menu is big, but not overwhelming which is helpful for beginners.

I recommend the flat white (latte art included) and the avocado toast.

Devoción– 69 Grand St.

Attention all coffee connoisseurs, Devoción is known for their farm fresh Colombian beans. They have made it their mission to serve the best coffee in town, according to founder, Steven Sutton. This coffee shop, turned speakeasy, turned greenhouse is sure to make for a great Instagram-worthy photo. Be prepared to spend hours here in awe over its rustic glamour and addictive espresso.

I recommend a cortado (espresso with warm milk) or the aromatica (a tea made with fresh fruit).

Black Brick Coffee– 300 Bedford Ave.

If I could describe this coffee shop in two words it would be Mother Nature. Black Brick has the perfect amount of old woodsy charm and modern aesthetic; plus, they have an outdoor patio in the back with great seating, natural light and plants. This coffee spot is a hidden gem that could be missed if you didn’t know what to keep your eye out for. Once found, you’ll be hooked. There’s no other place quite like it.

I recommend a dirty chai latte and one of their awesome homemade doughnuts!
