ENTA Enhances its Voice and Swallowing Division in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, N.Y. (May 31, 2019) – ENT and Allergy Associates LLP (ENTA) is home to more than 200 of the finest otolaryngology and allergy specialists in the country. The practice is always seeking to supplement its roster of sub-specialists, and is delighted to announce that fellowship-trained laryngologist, Neil Prufer, M.D., will become the newest physician at its brand new location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Dr. Prufer, who will offer full otolaryngological care, will see adult and pediatric patients starting June 17, 2019.

A New York City native, Dr. Prufer studied music at New York University, where he graduated cum laude with honors in music before beginning his medical training. He received his Master of Arts and Doctor of Medicine from the Boston University School of Medicine, where he became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. After completing his general surgery internship and residency in otolaryngology at SUNY Downstate and Long Island College Hospital, Dr. Prufer earned his fellowship in laryngology training with internationally-recognized laryngologists Drs. Kenneth Altman and Peak Woo. Dr. Prufer has held voluntary positions at Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens and at Flushing Hospital. He has authored numerous publications and presentations on the evaluation and treatment of the professional voice, and has conducted research in the field of laryngology.

Dr. Prufer, who is fluent in Spanish, is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the New York Laryngological Society, and the American Laryngological Association.
