At 118 Greenpoint Avenue a red building stands 3 stories tall and
with 15 units. This building, known as Canvas Lofts, was built in
1931, and is an authentic loft building situated in the historic
Waterfront district of Greenpoint. These units are clean white
canvasses for people to transform and customize in any way they would
want to. The average sale for each unit was $622 208 and the rent
price was $2535. It was listed through Mohawk Realty and developed

Featured on New York Times Real Estate website is The Green Point
Lofts at 231 Norman Avenue. This smaller property has a bicycle room,
courtyard, roof deck and storage available. It has one bathroom. It
is listed with a price of $399 000.

Lofts to Airbnb

For those that seek Greenpoint Brooklyn Lofts on a short notice
there is a listing on Airbnb for a 100-year old “Lovely Factory
Loft”. This converted factory has 2 beds, accommodating four guests
and one bathroom. Outfitted with custom furniture and all the modern
appliances one would expect and demand. There is free Wi-fi, bike
storage and it is within walking distance of some of the trendiest
bars and restaurants. The 37’’ flat screen TV may not get much
use, with the transport to the Nassau G train only 8 minutes walking
away would ensure easy traveling to many of the sights and sounds of
the area. The cost per night is $107.

To experience a more formal loft experience there is the Studio
Loft at the Henry Norman Hotel. A converted 19th century warehouse,
the hotel features modern lofts but outfitted with hardwood floor and
antiques to give it a historical feel. Guests have access to shared
terraces, and a fitness center with a dry sauna and steam shower. At
$101 per night it is a more functional and traditional abode with
staff looking to one’s needs.

In another listing on Airbnb is the “Greenpoint Spacious Loft”
at $128 a night. Guests have one bathroom and bedroom, space enough
for two guests. The 800 square foot property has great midtown views
and only two blocks from the East River Ferry. The property has
air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi, so the stay isn’t uncomfortable.

Lofts to Entertain At

Located in Greenpoint is the magnificent multipurpose space/event
hall simply called The Greenpoint Loft. An example of what is
possible in re-purposing these properties, this former pre-World War
II warehouse has found a new lease of life. The space is 5000 feet
big with a stunning view of the East River; the space is
authentically Brooklyn in its rugged urban design. The fixture in
Green Point has become a popular place for hosting parties and
weddings.

Sunlit Greenpoint Studio/Loft is a property in the industrial area
of Greenpoint which is opened to other suitable creative projects on
occasion. It is an open space of approximately 900 square meters,
with huge windows letting in light, perfect for photography etc. The
place is equipped with photo equipment (for example a boom and
umbrella). The interior is done in a minimalist style so as not to
distract attention from the creative endeavors taking place inside.
The loft also has access to a roof with a 360 degree view of the
cityscape that is perfect for photo shoots. It has a renting rate of
$150 per hour and with a minimum of four hours.

Located just one block from the G stop of the subway train is a
very similar studio available for rent. This property also hosts art
and creative events with a roof and the rate is also $150 per hour
though to use the roof costs $30 extra per hour. There is Wi-Fi and
restrooms for the use by guests but the maximum number of people is
fixed at 50. It is also expressly stated that the space cannot be
used for parties, but only for artistic pursuits. The aim is to
change the way in which art is created, exhibited and consumed.

Lofts to Rent

Lofts 305 at McGuiness Boulevard, with five stories of brown brick
and low-impassivity windows, is a rental unit that was built fairly
recently in 2005. The apartments are finished in high quality
materials and feature high ceilings, to give the illusion of space.
With high-end finishes and private outdoor spaces for some units,
this is intended to be a premium experience. The amenities are
on-site parking, a common rooftop, a gym and a virtual doorman.
Leasing and marketing are done by the NY Casa group with average rent
coming in at $3567.

Lofts are a facet of the bohemian lifestyle and nowhere is that
fact that more clear than in Greenpoint. The property in Greenpoint
has been in demand, with a %5 rise in median rent seen per month and
a 24% year-over-year median rise in sales prices. From hosting
weddings, being rented as accommodations, used as permanent homes or
even wedding venues, the loft has been given new life in Greenpoint,
Brooklyn.
