Bowl Haircuts Return To Williamsburg In KFC Promotion
The chicken chain throws it back to the '90s to promote its $3 "KFC Famous Bowl."
WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — If your dream look for the New Year happens to be a haircut inspired by a fried chicken fast food chain, you're in luck. KFC is giving away free bowl haircuts Thursday at a salon in Williamsburg to celebrate its newest "Famous Bowl" meal.
The fried-chicken chain is offering to give people one of several modern takes on the 90s hairstyle as part of a campaign to promote its $3 discount price on the "KFC Famous Bowl," a one-pound meal of food including mashed potatoes, corn, chicken, gravy and cheese.
The new cuts are available from 1 to 5 p.m. at Ludlow Blunt hair salon on North 3rd Street.

"With the help of real, actual hairstyle designers who were willing to take this as seriously as we were, we created a series of stylish, modern-day takes on bowl cuts that will undoubtedly make you famous among your friends, passers-by and, let’s face it, anyone fortunate enough to lay eyes on your new ‘do," the company said.
KFC's lookbook includes everything from the classic "original recipe" — with the option to "add a little spice" with some red hair dye — to the "the gravy fall," an asymmetrical bob that swoops below the chin.

Other styles use razors to cut shapes into the wearer's hair, including the "spork and bowl" or tiger-striped sideburns in "the colonel's stripes."
Those interested in getting one of the new looks can sign up for a time slot at kfcfamousbowlcuts.com.
"If you have an insatiable hunger for boldness, uncompromising style, and spherical dishware-inspired haircuts, come on out to Ludlow Blunt in Brooklyn on January 10 and get your own, for free, of course," the company said.
