MTA Cuts Williamsburg Buses Put In To Help During L Train Work
The two Williamsburg buses were only getting a few riders per trip, so they will be replaced with another bus route by this weekend.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — The MTA is changing up the Williamsburg bus system put in place to help riders get around during L train night and weekend work, transit officials announced.
Starting this weekend, the agency will scrap the two Williamsburg Link buses that brought L train riders to other subway stations and put in a new route. The switch is because almost no riders were using the new lines, called B91 and B92, which were put in to bring L train riders to other subways when their trains slowed to every 20 minutes on nights and weekends.
Most riders, officials said, were starting their trips directly from the different subway lines, like at the Marcy Avenue station, rather than taking the new buses to get there from L stops. Only two or three people were riding each B91 or B92 bus each trip, they said.

Subway lines like the J and M trains have seen a 60 percent increase in riders going into Manhattan.
The new B91A bus route will only stop at four spots, instead of the old buses combined seven, and will run less frequently.

Here's the new schedule:

The stops will include Bedford Avenue and North Sixth Street, a new stop at Grand Street and Driggs Avenue, the Marcy Avenue station and a new stop at Grand Avenue and Roebling Street.
MTA officials said the new routes will help riders connect to other buses. Riders that go between the Metropolitan Avenue and Lorimer Street station to Marcy Avenue station can take the B24 bus for a direct connection between the two instead. Those going between Metropolitan/Lorimer and Bedford Avenue can take the Q59 to the new B91A at Grand Street.
The new bus route will be put into place starting Saturday, June 8. Until then, the B91 and B92 buses will run as normal.
