New Chipotle Opening Next to Williamsburg WeWork and Whole Foods This Fall

It's one of 3 new Chipotles opening in Brooklyn by the end of the year.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Apparently undeterred by a plunge in stock and sales after The Great E.Coli Scare of 2016, the Chipotle Mexican-food chain is planning to open three new locations in Brooklyn by the end of the year, according to a company spokeswoman.

One of the new Chipotles will be located on the Park Slope/Prospect Heights border. Another will be located at the Flatbush Junction, down by Brooklyn College.

And a third, somewhat unsurprisingly, is going in at 130 North 4th St. in the heart of young, rich Williamsburg — in the same building, in fact, as the neighborhood's brand-new Whole Foods and the local outpost of WeWork, NYC's largest chain of co-working spaces.

Brooklyn's first Apple Store opened just down the block at the end of July.

Neighborhood blog Free Williamsburg first spotted Chipotle signage going up on North 4th between Bedford and Berry back in June. ("No word yet on if this suburban trend will continue with the opening of a J Crew, Urban Outfitters or even a Starbucks….oh wait," editor Josh Morrissey wrote.)

Williamsburg's new Chipotle will open its doors near the end of September, the company spokeswoman said.

Chipotle is currently accepting job applications for crew members at its new spot on North 4th. Interested parties can apply online.
