Nitehawk Film Feast Adds Another Night Due To Popularity

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Williamsburg's Nitehawk Cinema's night with a film, dim sum dinner and craft beer was so popular it sold out, and the theater added a new night: April 19. The theater is partnering with the Nolita dim sum establishment called Nom Wah and Lagunitas beers for a dinner and show of 80s cult favorite Big Trouble in Little China.

It's Nitehawk's second Film Feast of the year, a program that pairs a historic or cult movie with a themed menu by a partner distillery, brewery or food purveyor. Nitehawk says the food is meant to "make classic films come to life." Tickets are $75 each for this bi-monthly event and go on sale on Nitehawk's website on Wednesday night.

Big Trouble in Little China is a fantasy martial arts movie made in 1986 starring Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun and James Hong. The protagonist, Jack Burton, helps his friend Wang Chi rescue Chi's fiancee from bandits in Chinatown in San Francisco. It involves an old curse, a sorcerer and perhaps some dialogue that could ring problematic in 2017.

The Film Feast happens on April 18 at 7:15 p.m. at Nitehawk Cinema, 136 Metropolitan Ave. in Brooklyn.
