Nitehawk To Play Puppy Bowl In Lobby

The Williamsburg theater with table service is charging $30 for its Super Bowl showing, but you can go watch the Puppy Bowl for free.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — If you're looking for a place to watch the Puppy Bowl, the cutest Super Bowl variation ever, Nitehawk Cinemas in Williamsburg is showing it in its front lobby as part of the Super Bowl 2017 program.

You can buy a Super Bowl ticket to see the game on the big screen for $30, which gets you a food and beverage voucher and saves your seat. They'll be serving additional items to their normal menu like hot wings and special beers: Sweetwater IPA and Sam Adams Boston Lager.

But everyone knows the puppies (and halftime kittens) are where the show is at. An employee of the theater confirmed to Patch that the Puppy Bowl will be airing high-res in the lobby upstairs and possibly low-res in the bar downstairs, which serves upscale cocktails, if there is interest. They usually decide the day of the Super Bowl whether people would rather watch the half-time show or the Puppy Bowl, she said. There is no cover to get in.
