No L Trains After Midnight For Most Of BK For 9 Weeks, MTA Says
The next phase of the L train project will mean shutting down all trains between midnight and 5 a.m. to more than half of Brooklyn stops.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Some Brooklynites will get a taste of what could have been had the L train shutdown never been called off over the next few months. The MTA has announced that the next phase of its ongoing repairs to the L train will mean shutting down all service after midnight to a large swath of Brooklyn stops.
The service change, part of the 15-month renovation to the subway line, is scheduled to start early next week and will last for a total of five weeks and nine weekends over the next few months, the transit authority said in its most recent L train newsletter.
For each of those time periods, which extend into January, there will be no trains between the Lorimer Street and Broadway Junction stations from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. so that workers can have full access to the stations to make planned upgrades.

"This work was always part of the L project, and we’re able to set the dates for it now based on our progress and other work going on," the MTA said.
During the closures, the L will still run from 8th Avenue in Manhattan to Lorimer Street and will run from Broadway Junction to the Canarsie station every 20 minutes.

The 10 stations in between, though, will only be accessible by buses that will make all L-train station stops between Lorimer and Broadway Junction on weeknights. On weekends it will take riders from Broadway Junction to Rockaway Parkway, Broadway Junction to Myrtle Avenue or Myrtle Avenue to Lorimer Street.
The MTA said the construction during these closures will include reconstructing platform edges and adding boarding areas compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act to the Morgan Avenue, Dekalb Avenue, Halsey Street and Bushwick-Aberdeen stations. The Myrtle Avenue and Wilson Avenue stations will also get power upgrades to their circuit breaker houses and the Wilson Avenue station will get an upgraded track, officials said.
