North Williamsburg Ferry Stop Will Be Shut Down During Pier Construction
The East River Ferry stop on North 6th Street will be out of commission for two to three days next week.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — The North 6th Street pier in Williamsburg will be closed next Monday and Tuesday (and possibly Wednesday) while crews work to move the barge (aka, that big metal thing at the end of the pier) just a few feet from its current position.
East River Ferry service will be suspended at the pier while work on the barge is completed, according to the NY Waterway, the private transportation company that runs the ferry.
The pier's two ticketing kiosks will remain in their current position when the ferry stop reopens.

For commuters who prefer to avoid the crowded L train, the closest ferry terminals are in South Williamsburg, at the Schaefer Landing at the end of South 9th Street, and further north at Greenpoint's India Street pier, located at the foot of India Street.
