Lyft found that this neighborhood had more pick-ups and drop-offs last New Year's than any other.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — It looks like it won't just be crowded L trains getting in the way of reaching your New Year's Eve plans in Williamsburg on Monday night. A new study found that the neighborhood is also the most popular destination for partiers using car services like Lyft to ring in the New Year.
Williamsburg was the most popular pick-up and drop-off spot for Lyft riders last New Year's Eve, the company found. Most riders were likely making their way to the neighborhood to visit one of the top destinations that night, four of which were in Williamsburg.
Most visited destinations by Lyft riders included The Brooklyn Mirage, Knockdown Center, Depot 52, The 1896 and The Williamsburg Hotel.

But, some riders didn't make it in time to celebrate the New Year with family and friends. More than 50 riders ended up in the back of a Lyft ride when the clock struck midnight, the study found.

"To kick off 2019, Lyft is reminding riders to plan ahead so they can focus on celebrating, not worrying about parking and know they have a smart, responsible ride home," the company said.
The peak time for rides was 1a.m. on Jan. 1, the study found. 59 percent of rides were requested at midnight on New Year's and 28.87 percent were shared with other riders.
Throughout the city, top 2018 destinations included the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Queens Center, Chelsea Market, WTC.
Overall the company saw the numbers of riders grow 171 percent from 2016 to 2017.
"New Year’s Eve is a big night for both riders and drivers in New York City. We encourage Lyft riders to ride smart and plan ahead for a responsible ride home when ringing in 2019 with friends and family,” said Ann Ferracane, General Manager, Lyft New York & New Jersey. “We’ll also be there all night to support drivers on the road who want to take advantage of this additional earning opportunity.”
