Pfizer Developers Slapped With Restraining Order: Report
Developers of the controversial Broadway Triangle apartment complex were hit with a restraining order Monday, according to Bedford + Bowery.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Developers behind the controversial Pfizer Site development were slammed with a restraining order to stop them from building at the Broadway Triangle, according to city records and reports.
A coalition of local churches are suing Mayor Bill de Blasio and the city for allowing Rabsky Group developers to build an eight-building complex near Flushing and Marcy avenues that opponents argue is discriminatory, city records show.
The church coalition argued in the complaint that the project “will further segregate North Brooklyn and impose disparate impacts upon communities of color," records show.

The suit also claims that Rabsky Group — developers who reneged on a non-binding affordable housing deal at the nearby Rheingold Brewery site — will build mostly large apartments designed to cater to the Hasidic community.
The proposed 1,146-unit complex has been a source of community outrage since the Rabsky Group — co-owners of the Rheingold Brewery who reneged on a non-binding affordable housing deal — announced they would build on the site in 2009.

A hoard of chanting protesters were led away in handcuffs in July when they stormed into a public hearing at held by the City Planning Commission and, earlier in 2017, the group shut down a public hearing in Brooklyn Borough Hall.
Juan Ramos, the Broadway Triangle Community Coalition leader who led protesters in July, said at the time, "We will stand against the development in any way."
The temporary restraining order will be debated in a hearing on May 29, according to Bedford + Bowery, who first reported the suit.
