WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — While the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene cannot seem to find time to compile a comprehensive database of lead levels in public-housing tap water (or even an incomprehensive one), it did find time, this week, to draw up an interactive map of New York City's most uniquely popular dog names, neighborhood by neighborhood, based on the city's database of licensed dogs.
And because of this noble, taxpayer-funded effort, we now know that the most uniquely popular dog names in Williamsburg are Ollie and Frankie.

(Ollie in West Williamsburg, and Frankie in East Williamsburg, to be exact.)
There are 104 dogs in NYC with the name Ollie and 182 with the name Frankie, according to the database.

While the name Ollie is ranked 140th in popularity citywide, it's the 6th most common dog name in West Williamsburg, and while the name Frankie is ranked 78th citywide, it's ranked 6th in East Williamsburg — making these the most "uniquely popular" names in the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, down in the Orthodox Jewish enclave of South Williamsburg, the most uniquely popular dog name is Spanky.
So we've got Ollie, Frankie and Spanky. Sounds kind of like a Weiner dog girl group, no?
Cruise through the full map below. Might as well, since you paid for it.
