Shaun West, 36, Shot Dead in Williamsburg Apartment

West lived just a few blocks from the apartment where he was shot in the head, police say.

Williamsburg resident Shaun West, 36, was shot in the head late Wednesday night in an affordable-housing tower a few blocks from his house, according to the NYPD.

Emergency responders say they found West ”unconscious and unresponsive” in a fifth-floor apartment inside the Taylor-Wythe Houses around 9:45 p.m.

Friends mourned West, who they called ”Smoove” and ”Panama,” in posts to social media.

“They killed my boy,” Instagram user playboyburgt2 wrote. “WTF is wrong with this cold world.”

“God just received one of Williamsburg’s finest angels,” chinadoll2681 wrote. ”He was such a cool dude,” superbkso9 wrote.

On Facebook, Christopher Cash wrote: “Was just talking to bro [in] front of the crib last night. Sleep in peace.”

On his own Facebook account, West had posted photos of his baby boy. “He was a great guy. He loved his son,” his younger brother, 33-year-old Kevin West, said in an interview with DNAinfo. ”He loved everybody. He was very ambitious, very motivated toward his son and himself.”

Police sources told DNAinfo that West was shot by one of two men who burst into the Taylor-Wythe Houses apartment Wednesday night while West was waiting there for a female visitor.
