Smorgasburg And Brooklyn Flea Head Inside For Winter In W'burg
The bustling food market and collectible vendors will move into a waterfront office building so they can keep running until March.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Brooklyn foodies and antique collectors won't have to wait until next spring to taste their favorite Instagrammable vendors or hunt for their next vintage find.
Brooklyn Flea, Dumbo and Williamsburg's outdoor flea market, and Smorgasburg, Brooklyn's favorite summer food fest, are heading inside for the winter.
The two bustling markets will set up shop in a new waterfront office building in Williamsburg so that instead of closing in October they can each run until March, leaving only a few flea and Smorgasburg-less weeks before they return outside in April.

“We’re excited to pop up this winter in Williamsburg, our natural home and namesake, and can’t wait to take in the sweetest views our market has ever had,” Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea co-founder Jonathan Butler said.
The two markets will head indoors on Nov. 2, taking up 25 Kent's 25,000-square-foot top floor. They will both run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each weekend until March.

The indoor version of Smorgasburg, which is run by the founders of Brooklyn Flea, will scale back from its usual 100 or so vendors, who bounce between Williamsburg's East River State Park and Prospect Park on warm-weather weekends. The winter food market will have 15 to 20 vendors each weekend, organizers said.
Brooklyn Flea's portion of the top floor will include about 60 vendors selling furniture, vintage clothing, collectibles, antiques, jewelry and art by local artisans and designers.
The building is just a five minute walk from Brooklyn Flea's usual Williamsburg spot on Kent Avenue and is across the street from Smorgasburg's normal East River Park set-up.
“Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea are summer staples in Williamsburg and we’re glad to welcome them back to the neighborhood for the season,” 25 Kent co-owner Robert Andrews said.
The building is also no stranger to pop-ups and hosting local events. Right now, it is hosting a month-long pop-up catered to dogs, complete with puppy corn mazes and free dog makeovers. 25 Kent also recently hosted a graffiti art exhibit and a recycling-themed runway show for New York Fashion Week.
