Swastikas Found In L Train Delays Subway Line: MTA

Riders were left waiting for L trains Wednesday morning as MTA cleaned up a car with swastikas found drawn inside.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — MTA delayed service on the L during Wednesday morning's commute to clean up swastikas that it found in one of the trains, officials said.

Just after 9 a.m., MTA officials tweeted that the subway line's Canarsie-bound trains would be delayed to clean up racist graffiti. The graffiti, which officials later said was swastikas found in one of the trains, was found in a train by the Myrtle-Wyckoff station.

The train was removed from service so that it could be cleaned up. The police were notified of the graffiti, officials said.

Riders told MTA on Twitter that the delay was causing crowds to form at the Lorimer and Graham stations. One rider said she had been waiting for more than 10 minutes and saw a train go by without stopping.
