Video: NYPD Officer Gets Down With Orthodox Jews on Purim
In Hasidic Williamsburg, of course.
WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Ah, Purim in Hasidic Williamsburg. Those hot and hyphy 24 hours in which Talmudic studies are thrown to the wind, the 365-day uniform gets spruced up with some funny hats, techno remixes of traditional Jewish jams pulsate through the neighborhood and every man, woman and child gets totally and completely lit. Kind of like Halloween in Santa Barbara or Carnaval in New Orleans, only with partygoers who literally haven't partied for the entire year prior.

Not even the public servants of the NYPD's 90th Precinct, it seems, can resist the urge to commemorate the Jews avoiding genocide in ancient Persia all those years ago.

One member of the squad was caught on film by YouTube user jewoogle exiting his patrol vehicle amid Purim celebrations last week. In the video, he throws up a couple enthusiastic fist pumps, hops around like a little Purim bunny for a bit, then drives through the crowd as they do the hora around his vehicle. (Video embedded above.)
Oh damn, officer. Oh damn.

But tell us: Who policed the community dance party best? This stud from the 90th, or the cop who did the Whip/Nae Nae in Bed-Stuy last summer?
