VIDEO: Williamsburg Bar Fight Escalates Into Robbery
A discussion outside Duck Duck bar in Williamsburg turned to a fight, which then escalated into an attack and robbery, cops said.
WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A conversation outside a Williamsburg bar turned into a dispute that led to two men stealing $1,350 in cash from another man's pocket and fleeing the scene, cops said. The incident occurred outside Duck Duck bar at 161 Montrose Ave. in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Feb. 8, according to police.
The 33-year-old victim was talking to the two suspects in front of the bar around 4 a.m. when they began arguing, and one of the suspects approached the victim from behind, grabbed him around his neck and dragged him to the ground, police said. The other suspect then punched him while the first man took the cash from his pocket and ran, according to the NYPD. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
The NYPD has released surveillance video of the incident and is asking anyone with information about the suspects to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
