Videology Sues Landlord Over Eviction Notice: Report
The Bedford Avenue bar and screening room owners claim the landlord is using "baseless" complaints as an excuse to evict them.
WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Owners of the beloved Bedford Avenue bar and movie house Videology are suing the landlord who tried to evict them over “petty allegations,” according to reports.
Owners Wendy Chamberlain and James Leet have filed a lawsuit that claims the landlord — identified as 308 Grand Realty LLC — is using "baseless" complaints of graffiti, dirty sidewalks and excessive noise as an excuse to evict them, The Real Deal reported Tuesday.
Videology Bar and Cinema owners have held a lease for the 308 Bedford Ave. since April 1 and alleged in the suit — which they filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court on Tuesday — that they have complied completely with its terms, according to The Real Deal.
