Daylight Saving Time 2015 ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, which means you’ll want to turn your clocks back before you go to bed Saturday night, Oct. 31.
Daylight Saving Time is the practice of setting the clocks forward one hour from Standard Time during the summer months, and back again in the fall, in order to make better use of natural daylight.

The good news for the early risers is that sunrise will be about an hour earlier and there will be more light in the mornings, but it also means the sun will set on New York City at 4:53 p.m. on Nov. 1.
The daylight will dwindle over the next two months as winter approaches, with the earliest sunsets of 2015 coming in mid-December.
The start and end of Daylight Saving Time are good times to change smoke detector batteries and check to make sure devices are in working order, according to fire officials.
Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Saving Time.
A dozen states are, according to a Washington Post report, “currently considering legislation to opt out of changing the clocks, either by remaining permanently on daylight saving time or standard time.“ New York is not one of them.
According to Petition2Congress.com, more than 58,000 Americans have sent emails to Congress urging an end to Daylight Saving Time. On petitioner wrote: “This needs to ends. We’re no longer farmers. It’s unfair to the students and parents that have to adapt twice a year! End it now.”
