Williamsburg 'Affordable' Apartments Require $77K Salary
Seven new apartments available on Union Avenue can only go to those that make at least $77,000 a year, records show.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Seven new apartments that hit the affordable housing lottery this week require a $76,000 salary to apply, records show.
The one-bedroom spots are found in a new building at 505 Union Ave., near the corner of Meeker Avenue. The building includes a public terrace, washer and dryer in each apartment, according to the listing.
Each unit will cost $2,245 per month and go to those making 130 percent of the area median income. That means that those applying should make at least $76,972 a year.

The maximum salary is $97,110 if one person is applying, a combined $111,020 if two people are applying or a combined $124,930 if three people are applying.
Applications for the seven units will start on Friday and stay open until a Dec. 20 deadline. The building is currently the only Williamsburg development that is available on the affordable housing lottery.

It joins four buildings in Bushwick and four in Bed-Stuy that are on the list.
