Williamsburg Fire On Manhattan Ave. Injures 3: FDNY

A fire that broke out on the top floor of a residential building took 60 firefighters to put out and injured three people, FDNY said.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A fire that broke out in a Manhattan Avenue injured three people Friday afternoon, FDNY officials said.

About 60 firefighters rushed to 139 Manhattan Ave. just after 12 p.m. for the second-floor blaze. The firefighters worked to put out the flames for about a half an hour before it was under control at 12:28 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.

Three people were injured by the fire, but the spokesman was unsure of their condition or whether they would be sent to the hospital.

The two-story building was likely evacuated as firefighters worked to put out the fire, the spokesman said.
