
As the new school year looms, we thought it best to focus on the positive with a look back at U.S. News & World Report’s top-ranked public schools in the Brooklyn borough for 2015.
U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings are widely considered to be the most reliable measurement of their kind.

“A great high school must serve all of its students well, not just those who are college bound, and that it must be able to produce measurable academic outcomes to show it is successfully educating its student body across a range of performance indicators.”
Brooklyn’s No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 schools were granted ”gold metals” in college readiness, meaning enough students took the AP and IB exams to place them in the nation’s top 500 schools producing ”college-level achievement for the highest percentages of their students.”

And all the schools in the Brooklyn’s Top 10 placed above the New York state average in English and mathematics.
