UPDATE: $30,000 Torah, Car Recovered, says NYPD
A thief made off with a rabbi's 2007 Toyota Corolla, with a $30,000 holy text inside.
Update, Jan. 21 at 6:25 p.m.: The NYPD reported via Twitter that both the vehicle and the Torah have been found. Â
Original story: Police are searching for a suspect who stole a Kensington rabbi's car on Saturday—with a $30,000 Torah inside.Â
The victim, who The New York Daily News reports is Rabbi Binyamin Tamaiev of Congregation Agudath Sholom, told police his 2007 Toyota Corolla was stolen near the synagogue, located at 3714 18th Avenue, around 6 p.m.

The costly holy text was among several items lifted along with the car, including multiple pairs of prayer phylacteries, The News reports.Â
