46 Winning NYC Powerball Ticket Locations Announced

New York wasn’t among the luckiest states in Wednesday night’s historic $1.6 billion jackpot Powerball drawing: that honor goes to California, Florida and Tennessee, where jackpot-winning tickets were sold.

However, 46 people who bought tickets in New York City won prizes ranging from $50,000 to $1 million, the New York Lottery announced Thursday.

Three second-place winning tickets — worth $1 million each for matching 5 of 6 numbers (4, 8, 19, 27, 34) and just missing the Powerball number (10) — were sold at:

• Plaza South Convenience and Grocery Store at 25-08A Queens Plaza South in Queens

• Pkg. Enterprises at 118-17 Liberty Ave. in Queens

Forty-three third-prize winning tickets — worth $50,000 each for matching 4 of 5 numbers (4, 8, 19, 27, 34) and including the Powerball number (10) — were sold at:

New York Lottery officials are encouraging those who bought a Powerball ticket to check their tickets again, as they could be holding a winner. Tickets expire one year after the game’s drawing.

Winners may claim the tickets at any one of the lottery’s customer service centers statewide. Prizes under $600 can be claimed at any lottery retailer.
