5 Things: New York Philharmonic to Play at Prospect Park Tonight

1. Music under the stars. Make the most of summer evenings at Prospect Park tonight where the New York Philharmonic performs Dvořák's Cello Concerto and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5. The event is followed by fireworks, so if you've been meaning to pop the question, tonight is your chance. 8 p.m. Prospect Park's Long Meadow. Free. 

2. Go Latin. If you're more in the mood for soulful, acid, jazz Latin fusion (and/or air conditioning), head over to Ladies Night at Elberta Restaurant and Bar where Je Sante performs. 335 Flatbush Ave. bet. Park and Prospect, beginning at 5 p.m. for food and 7 p.m. for music. No cover.

3. Go Folk. Tonight's line-up at The Way Station includes the folk-rock of August McLaughlin, acoustic/Americana by Tom Cintula & The Buffalo 24, jazz/funk by Freeman Runs the Voodoo Down and "freak folk" by Poor Remy. 4. Get the kids off the couch. Ok, school's been out a few weeks now and even the kids are ready to turn off the TV. You're in luck because today there's an Art of Drama Workshop for Kids ages 8-10. LaunchPad, 721 Franklin Ave. bet. Park and Sterling. 3 to 4 p.m. Pay what you wish.   

5. Move the car. Alternate side parking rules are in effect today and tomorrow.
