5 Things: Shaky Dave & Friends Play at Jalopy Tavern!

2. Listen to music. Go to The Way Station to hear Cory and the Ragtags. Born in the Texas Hill Country and raised on western music and jazz, he plays with backing band The Rag Tags—a college pet project that’s become a moniker for various collaborations. Now transplanted to New York and equipped with a trumpet, guitar and loop station, his song styling trades the pastoral for a gritty urban-scape. The Way Station, 683 Washington Ave, 8 p.m.

3. Geek Out. Come to Union Hall for the comedy event Geeking Out. Hosted by bespectacled comedy duo Kerri Doherty and Nate Fernald, Geeking Out is a comedy and storytelling show that brings talented performers together for a night of shameless nerding out on the bands they love, the celebrities they obsess over and the video games that nearly wore their thumbs to stumps (and that's just the tip of the fanatical iceberg). 4. Shake down with the harmonica. Shaky Dave and Friends will bring down the house at Jalopy Tavern tonight. Shaky Dave is the harmonica player for the indie roots super group, M Shanghai, Alex Battles and the Whisky Rebellion, Kelli Rae Powell, and a host of other NYC based bands. He'll be joined by some of his talented friends! Jalopy Tavern, 317 Columbia Street, 9 p.m.
