5 Things: Watch a Baboon Open a Christmas Present

What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1. Attention, amateur scientists! Head to the Audubon Center at Prospect Park this weekend to help with the Christmas Bird Count, a 100-year-old national tradition that helps conservation researchers track the long-term health of bird populations. The Bird Count will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 12 and 3 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. Click here for more information.

2. Watching animals act like people has long been a treasured pastime of the American public, and Prospect Park Zoo is making it a little easier to anthropomorphize our furry friends. Each Saturday and Sunday in December, visitors are invited to gather 'round as red pandas, otters, baboons and other zoo animals tear into wrapped, treat-filled boxes. Take a look at the full schedule here.

3. Tickets for Justin Bieber's second Barclays Center appearance on Aug. 2 will go on sale on Friday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. Click here to buy them; we won't judge.
