Brancaccio's Chickens Get their Own Facebook Page
Customers can now order the prized poultry online.

It was bound to happen eventually: Brancaccio's rotisserie chickens now have their own Facebook page.
Unlike your sister's cat, the chickens may not provide riveting minute-to-minute status updates, but the page is certainly useful for anyone who wants to reserve one of the coveted $6 dinners, which owner Joe Brancaccio said sell out each day without fail.
"It's getting crazy. It's getting to a point where I get phone calls at 7 o'clock in the morning," he said of his customer's early bird ordering habits. "Sometimes I get calls while I'm shaving."

Regular visitors to Brancaccio's general Facebook page know that the chef uses social media to update the status of various food items ("Rice Balls are Ready!!!!!!!!" is a common refrain), but only the chickens get their own countdown of rapidly dwindling stock ("8 Chickens Left!!!!!!").
Because Brancaccio only churns out around 20 chickens each day, demand for the reasonably-priced poultry greatly exceeds his output, meaning competition to place an order can sometimes border on cutthroat.

Though customers currently have the option of reserving chickens online, Brancaccio said the majority of orders are still placed by phone. He added that he hopes giving the chickens their own Facebook will help streamline the process.
"I want to use the store Facebook page for other items—I'm trying to compartmentalize my business," he said.
What other Brancaccio's creations are worthy of their own social media following? (Personally, I'd "like" the mac 'n cheese in a heartbeat.) Tell us in the comments.
