Brooklyn Cop Arrested For Drunk Driving And Assault, Police Say
NYPD officer Tanvir Ahmed was charged with driving under the influence after crashing his car in Brooklyn Monday, police said.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — A drunk off-duty police officer was arrested after crashing his car, punching someone in the face then fleeing the scene, according to police and reports.
Tanvir Ahmed, 28, was charged with assault, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and refusing to take a breath test in southern Brooklyn’s 62nd Precinct Monday at about 9:30 p.m., said police.
Ahmed stands accused of crashing into another car at Ocean Parkway and Avenue P, punching that car’s driver and speeding away, according to a Pix11 report.

Video released by New York City Alerts Tuesday morning shows a sedan with an NYPD placard on its dashboard colliding with another car on the same intersection where Ahmed's crash occurred.

The sedan comes to a stop on Quentin Road, the same block where Pix 11 reported Ahmed was arrested.

After the driver shooting the video stops the errant driver, he can be heard professing his surprise at finding NYPD identification on his car.
"You're a f--ing cop?" the driver exclaims. "Oh my god."
