Brooklyn Woman Gives Birth on Stoop

On the stoop's third step, reports say.

Brooklyn’s first (reported) stoop baby of the year came into this world on the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 9 — also the borough’s first day of school.

The baby’s grandfather, Sunset Park resident Tony Giordano, told the story to neighbors on Facebook.

“We all talk about the stoops of Sunset Park....well, us Giordano’s have a new stoop story to add....

My daughter Rebecca - gave birth - on our stoop just 8 hours after this morning’s first day of school pic.

Little Isaiah is the latest Sunset Park baby - umbilical cord cut on our stoop...street blocked with ambulance, fire department and police....what a reception - mom & baby are doing fine....grandparents are a mess...lol”

The baby’s grandmother, Renee Giordano — who also happened to be executive director of the Sunset Park Business Improvement District (BID) — told the Brooklyn Eagle that Isaiah was born on the stoop’s third step.

“Neighbors, kids, everybody gathered in front of the house to watch,” the grandmother said.
