Tired of drawing bowls of fruit? Try your hand at horses.Â
On Monday, Jan. 7, the horses of Kensington Stables will serve as models for local artists, with the $15 price of admission to go directly toward funding the stables.Â
Barbara Stork, a riding instructor and artist, said the stables have been hosting the drawing sessions on the first Monday of each month since October.Â

She said around three horses are used in each session, depending on what attendees are looking for.
"Sometimes they want a draft horses, sometimes they want a lot of action," she said, explaining that she'll often bring out two ponies to frolic around the practice ring, since their smaller size enables them to be more active in a relatively small space.Â

Artists need not have any experience, but Stork emphasized that no instruction is provided. Participants should bring their own materials, and dress warmly—while the arena is indoors, it's not heated.Â
If you're pleased with your creation, the stables recently added a gallery in the main entryway to show—and sell— artist's work.Â
The session will last from 8 to 11 p.m. Questions? Call Barbara Stork at 718-213-0772.Â
