Driver Arrested After Fatal Kensington Crosswalk Crash, Cops Say
A Brooklyn woman faces criminal charges after a two-car crash on Coney Island Avenue claimed a local woman's life Monday, police said.

KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn woman faces criminal charges for the two-car crash in a Kensington crosswalk that claimed a local woman's life Monday, police said.
Claudette Crosby, 63, was charged with failure to yield and exercise due care for her role in the crash on Coney Island and Church avenues about 9:10 a.m., police said.
Maria Del Carmen Porras-Hernandez, 49, was fatally struck in the crosswalk when Crosby tried to make a right turn in her blue 2015 Honda Fit, police said.

Crosby, of Canarsie, also smashed into a brown 2019 Subaru Outback which had stopped at the light, according to police.
Porras-Hernandez suffered severe injuries to her head and body and later died at Maimonides Hospital, according to police.
