Free Helmets And Bike Swaps At Prospect Park's First Bike Day
This bike safety event comes as the number of cyclists killed in crashes spikes.

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — Free helmets will be up for grabs in Prospect Park this weekend as part of it's first ever Bike Day, an event meant to empower cyclists as the number of fatal crashes spikes across the city.
Brooklyn cyclists of all ages are invited to Prospect Park from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday to swap kids bikes, grab free helmets and learn how to navigate the city streets as safely as possible, the Prospect Park Alliance announced.
Citi Bike will also host a demonstration of hand-cycles for adults and InTandem a demonstration of tandem cycling for adults and children with disabilities, according to the PPA.
