Why Go: The literary and culture magazine is only printed thrice a year, so come out and celebrate with readings from two authors who personify the journal's high/lowbrow contrast: Julia Grønnevet will read from her account of covering the Anders Behring Breivik trial in Oslo, and Kristin Dombek will read from her essay on sex, drugs, and Ryan Gosling in Williamsburg.Â

Gentrify Brooklyn

Why Go: Gentrify Brooklyn is a weekly improv, sketch and stand-up comedy show. Each week it is hosted by comedy trios Sidecar (Justin Tyler, Matt Fisher, Alden Ford), M.A.D. (D'Arcy Erokan, Abra Tabak, MacKenzie Condon) and special guests.Â

Brooklyn Botanic Garden Hosts 'Light in Winter'

Why Go:Â On the first Sunday of each month, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden invites visitors to invigorate themselves with a host of daytime activities for all ages as part of its "Light in Winter" series.
