In Kensington's NYPD Precinct, Major Crimes Collectively Down in 2015
Felony assaults were the exception to the rule.
KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — Through Dec. 18, reported major crimes in the NYPD's 66th Precinct, which patrols Kensington and Borough Park, were down about 9 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the latest NYPD statistics.
The precinct recorded 997 major crimes through Dec. 18, compared to 1,097 in 2015. Almost all major crime categories — murder, rape, robbery, burglary, grand larceny, and auto theft — were down.
The two largest decreases came in the categories of burglary — with 161 recorded through Dec. 18 of this year, compared to 255 last year, a decrease of about 37 percent — and murder, with just one recorded through Dec. 18 compared to four last year.
