An unidentified man died behind the wheel of a 2018 Honda Accord that burst into flames on 39th Street early Monday morning, police said.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — A man died in a massive car fire near Green-Wood Cemetery early Monday morning, according to police.
An unidentified man was killed inside the 2018 Honda Accord that burst into flames on 39th Street near 12th Avenue just after 2:45 a.m., police said.
Firefighters rushed to put out the flames, but could not save the man they found behind the wheel, according to police.

Police were still investigating the cause of the fire and had not released the man's identity as of 10 a.m. Monday.
