Mysterious Motorcycling Mugger Seen In Photo Released By Cops

Police released photos of a woman they suspect is the mysterious purse-snatching motorcyclist who's been haunting south Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Police released photos of the woman who may be the mysterious motorcyclist snatching purses from Brooklyn women on the sidewalk.

The sticky-fingered cyclist, who can be seen sporting a black helmet, is wanted for four motorcycle muggings in Kensington, Madison, Bensonhurst and Coney Island that occurred during a one-week spree in late April and early May, police said.

The unidentified woman first stole a handbag from the car of a 46-year-old woman driving with her windows open on Ditmas Avenue and East Seventh Street, police said.

The same cyclist then snatched a 66-year-old woman's purse as she walked on Kings Highway near East 21st Street just before 9 p.m. on May 1, according to police.

She tried to pluck a purse from a 31-year-old woman who was walking on 67th Street near 18th Avenue at 9:30 a.m. on May 2, but could not wrestle the bag away from her victim, police said.

And finally, on May 3 at about 6:40 p.m., the cycling purse snatcher stole another bag from a 40-year-old woman near Ocean Parkway and Shore Parkway, according to police.

Police also released photos of a man wearing a Brooklyn t-shirt they'd like to question about the robberies.
