Pedal Power at Cortelyou Greenmarket
Make a fossil fuel-free meal courtesy of Sustainable Flatbush.
Vegetables won't be the only thing being "peddled" at Sunday's Cortelyou Greenmarket.
Sustainable Flatbush will be showing off its Bike Blender and Solar Oven during the market from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., meaning that in addition to shopping for the week's groceries, market-goers are also invited to "pedal puree" fresh ingredients into a seasonal soup, while the solar oven bakes bread using energy from the sun.
The Cortelyou Greenmarket is located on Cortelyou Road between between Argyle and Rugby roads. It is open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sundays year-round.
