Police Investigate Alleged Attempted Abduction in Borough Park

A 9-year-old girl told police that a man had ordered her into his SUV.

Police in the 66th Precinct responded to calls Tuesday evening regarding the attempted abduction of a 9-year-old Orthodox Jewish girl on 13th Avenue near 42nd Street.

Police received a call around 5:45 p.m. alleging that a man with a large dog was attempting to lure the girl, who was walking home from her aunt's house, into his black SUV.

The victim told police she crossed the street in an effort to lose the man, but that he allegedly followed, eventually driving away down 14th Avenue.
