Police Search for F Train Stabbing Suspect

A man is wanted for slashing a man and stealing his iPhone near the Avenue I station.

Police in the 66th Precinct are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing and iPhone robbery that took place on the F train near Avenue I on Sunday. 

According to police, the suspect approached his 40-year-old victim on the southbound F train around 1:55 a.m., first knocking the victim's iPhone out of his hand and then slashing his lower back as he bent to retrieve it. 

The suspect snatched the phone and fled the train when it stopped at the Avenue I station.

The victim was taken to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition. 

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man around 25-years-old, standing approximately 5-foot-9 and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a jean jacket and red hooded sweatshirt.
