Police Search for Two Female Bandits

The women are accused of robbery and impersonating police officers.

Police in the 72nd Precinct are asking for help locating two suspects accused of robbery and impersonating police officers near 53rd Street and 4th Avenue on Jan. 8.

According to police, the two female suspects approached the 29-year-old victim around 1:20 a.m., simultaneously demanding his property and propositioning him for sex.

The victim declined both, and began walking southbound on 4th Avenue. The suspects followed, telling the victim they were police officers, before one of them pushed the victim to the ground, put her foot on his neck and snatched the cash from his wallet and emptied his pockets. The bandits then got into a black Jeep Cherokee and fled eastbound on 54th Street.

The suspects are both described as Hispanic women, standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7. One was wearing a black cap and had shoulder-length blonde hair. The other was wearing a white hat, and both were wearing long black coats.

Police said they are believed to frequent the area.
