The new outdoor fitness center includes a misting station, group class space and 12 pieces of outdoor gym equipment.

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — A new $750,000 outdoor fitness center opened up at the Prospect Park Parade Ground Friday morning, officials announced.

Brooklynites will now have access to a 12-piece fitness center and a misting line near Caton Avenue and Rugby Road, City Councilman Matthieu Eugene said Friday.

“I believe that the health and wellbeing of the community should be the top priority of the city, and the creation of this space is an important step in that process,” stated Eugene.
