The Battle of Brooklyn—the first battle of the American Revolution following the signing of the Declaration on Independence—was waged 236 years ago on what is now the grounds of Green-Wood Cemetery.
On Sunday, join cemetery staff in celebrating the battle's anniversary with a host of family-friendly activities.Â

10 a.m. – Trolley Tour (SOLD OUT): Join author Barnet Schecter and Green-Wood historian Jeff Richman.
12:30 p.m. – Revolutionary War re-enactors: Takes place in Green-Wood’s Meadow at the Gothic Arch. FREE.

1:30 p.m. – Battle of Brooklyn Parade: Meet at the main gate for a parade to Battle Hill. FREE.
