Report: Battle of Brooklyn at Green-Wood Cemetery

On Sunday, the 237th anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn was commemorated at Green-Wood Cemetery, according to Patch blogger Jeff Richman who shared some information and a photo of the event seen here.

On the Green-Wood Discovery blog that described the day and some of the events surrounding the history of the cemetery. 

"The Battle of Brooklyn was a tremendously important event in American history," the blog reported. "Fought on August 27, 1776, it was the first battle of the American Revolution after the Declaration of Independence was issued."
