The Early Word: Kensington Trash Mob to Meet on Saturday
What you need to know, pre-coffee.
1. Teach your kids the art of nutritious eating with tABLE health’s Rachel Saks, a registered dietician who will be making a visit to Brooklyn Commune on Aug. 15. Among the hands-on lessons Saks will impart are goals for vitamin mineral intake, the reasons—and solutions—for picky eating and how to time meals and snacks. The session will last from 6 to 8 p.m. Click here for more information.
2. Join the Kensington Trash Mob this Saturday to help keep Church Avenue spic and span. The group will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Green Triangle on Church Avenue near 35th Street to collect cigarette butts, soda cans, candy wrappers and other detritus that just can't seem to make it into the several trash cans nearby. Visit KARMABrooklyn blog for more details.Â
3. Due to torrential downpour and fearsome cracks of thunder, Friends of Greenwood Playground was forced to cancel yesterday's book swap. We'll bring you the details when the new date is released.
