Do Valentine's Day Right in Windsor Terrace and Kensington
Forget going into the city—there are plenty of options right around the corner.

Valentine's Day is on Thursday, but look, it's cold out, Manhattan will be a mob scene—hell, Park Slope will be a mob scene, and it's probably best for you and your loved one if you just stick close to home.
As usual, the institutions of Windsor Terrace and Kensington have come through with a variety of romantic ways to pass the evening.

Moondos Grill
424 Church Ave.
Moondos is offering a no-frills three-course menu for lovebirds looking to fill up on hearty Latin classics. Patrons can choose between several appetizers like shrimp cocktail and tortilla soup, entrees ranging from garlic shrimp to chicken fajitas, and finally, a dessert of flan, churros, chocolate mousse cake or chocolate covered strawberries. Bonus: Complimentary champagne is included in the $40 price.
See the full menu on Moondos' Facebook page. Call (718) 941-0185 to make a reservation.
Brooklyn Banya
602 Coney Island Ave.
Want romance? You likely won't find it at Brooklyn Banya's steamy Valentine's Day dance party, in which gaggles of scantily-clad bathers will mingle everywhere from saunas to jacuzzis to the poolside dance floor. The Hungry March Band and "ethno-mesh" DJs will provide the tunes, and pierogies will be served to all!
If all of this isn't enough to shake off the weekday stress, there will be an open vodka bar from 9 to 10 p.m.
Tickets are $45 per person, $35 after 11 p.m., and $85 for a VIP package that includes an "authentic multi-course Russian banquet." If this sounds too weird/great to be true, here is the proof.
Hamilton's
2826 Fort Hamilton Pkwy.
The Fort Hamilton Parkway eatery isn't offering Valentine's Day specials, per se, but they are debuting their new lunch menu, for those able to play hookie for the afternoon. Highlights include Kimchi fried rice with organic egg, lamb sandwich and frittata, but that's only the beginning.
