Victorian Circus Comes To Green-Wood Cemetery This Weekend

The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus will transform Green-Wood Cemetery into a nineteenth century pleasure garden at twilight Friday and Saturday.

WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — Fire eaters, contortionists and floating performers will roam Green-Wood this weekend when the cemetery is transformed into a nineteenth century pleasure garden.

Green-Wood Cemetery will host the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus for the seventh annual "A Night at Niblo’s Garden" Friday and Saturday evenings, organizers announced.

The Victorian festival honors cemetery resident William "Billy" Niblo, an Irish immigrant who became famous in the 1800s for his popular pleasure garden and the picnics he hosted at his Green-Wood mausoleum.
