Weekend Weather: Ick. (With a Splash of Sunday Sun)

This summer, we'll help you plan your weekends with our weather watch.

Yes, it's summer, but this being New York, there's no telling what the wily weather will do over the weekend.

Poor weather is nearly guaranteed in the winter months, but we'd hate for you to make extensive beach plans, only to see them cancelled by an unexpected thunderstorm.

So each week this summer, Patch will keep you abreast of the weather with information from the National Weather Service.

Friday: The darkness and rain will linger until evening, but the clouds do have a silver lining: The formerly stifling temperatures will drop down to the mid-70s. Ah, sweet relief.

Saturday: If you were planning on taking advantage of one of the final beach weekends of summer, you may have to postpone: The chance of rain and afternoon thunderstorms will hover at around 60 percent throughout the day and night. Sorry.

Sunday: A reprieve! Yes, there will be a chance of rain before noon, but the rest of the day will be sunny, with highs around 88 degrees. To the beach!
